Step 2B: A great piece of architecture

Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates - completed and opened for public in January 2010.

I consider Burj Khalifa a 'great piece of architecture' not only because it is currently the tallest building in the world, but because of the volatile, uncertain and yet engaging history behind it that it very gracefully withholds. The construction and completion of Burj Khalifa saw many difficulties and start-stopped more than once due to different reasons including finances, mechanical/structural glitches, labor strikes and one serious economic recession.
I am quite impressed with the Burj Khalifa story, the very fact that it did finally get built on time and stands majestically tall today. I see Burj Khalifa as a lesson in determination, perseverance and the will to make dreams come true.
